Our group supports the Leading (sometimes "bleeding") edge technical solutions. We do a lot of 9i, 10g, 10gR2 High Availability, High Performance solutions - RAC, GRID, Streams, Data Guard -
We are looking for both CORE as well as APPS DBAs with 9i, 10g and 10gR2 Solution experience!!!
We are accepting resumes from candidates all over the US and Canada.
100% Travel - Candidates MUST be willing and able to travel 100%. Candidates can live anywhere in US or Canada.
Oracle Consulting provides architecture and technical services to ensure successful implementation of customer solutions involving the Oracle product stack. Architects are responsible for defining the complete customer solutions and database administration services to configure and maintain large Oracle environments, including the Oracle eBusiness Suite. Architecture services include capacity planning and designing solutions to meet High Availability, scalability, and disaster recovery requirements for clients.
100% Travel - Candidates MUST be willing and able to travel 100%. Candidates can live anywhere in US or Canada.
Candidates must have successfully completed 5+ RAC Implementations within a professional environment as the Primary / Lead DBA on the project.
Additional Experience to include:
· 10-15+ years+ experience of Oracle technology DBA
OR
· 10+ years+ experience of Oracle eBusiness Suite DBA including System Administration
· Hands-on professional RAC implementation experience as the Primary DBA
Skills - One or more of the following
· Server and application sizing and capacity planning
· Server and application tuning for performance and scalability
· Performance testing experience
· Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions
· Server consolidation
· Advanced security (Virtual Private Database, Labels etc)
· Networking, business intelligence
· Database and application server internals
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Architecting solutions to meet clients performance and HA requirements
· Administrating software and tools in line with the clients requirements
· Administrating eBusiness Suite
· Conducting performance and HA testing to ensure client SLAs are met
· Evaluating, monitoring and managing the clients database, application server and application performance
· Working to ensure that server and application security and integrity are maintained
· Developing and maintaining an up to date knowledge of practice area specific Oracle products and services
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Perform server/application audits and health checks
· Administer database, application server and application environments
· Tune the database, application server and application to ensure optimum use of resources
· Institute Operation Procedures to ensure the clients operating environment is monitored to help meet SLAs
· Ensure the database architecture is able to meet the clients ongoing needs
· Proactively maintain knowledge of Oracles current and future products/ solutions offerings for the specialist practice area
· Generate the relevant material, e.g. white papers, in order to develop and share knowledge
