First American Flood Data Services, the leading provider of flood zone determinations, is seeking an experienced Oracle Data Base Administrator for its office in Austin, Texas. Incumbent will be responsible for various activities relating to the design, implementation and maintenance of the Oracle database(s).
Additional responsibilities include:
- Ensure sound database definitions, structures and documentation
- Design security and integration controls
- Maintain and monitor the Oracle database environment
- Design and analyze policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management
- Starting salary: $77,000 - $85,000, depending on skills and experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience
- 3-5 years of experience
- Experience supporting Oracle databases on Solaris and Linux environments
- Must have experience with Oracle 10g release 2
- Must have experience supporting VLDB
- Must have experience tuning Oracle database and using tkprof/explain plan to assist developers in tuning SQL
- Must also have experience using SQL Loader and PL/SQL to implement database triggers and perform data conversion from ASCII to Oracle data formats
- Oracle RAC and/or ESRI GIS software experience on Oracle databases, a plus
Experience with Oracle Spatial option is also highly desired
- Must be team-oriented
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and high integrity
- Good analytical, judgment and problem solving skills
