The Rockefeller University, a world-renowned center for research and graduate education in the biomedical sciences, seeks an Oracle Application Database Administrator to join our Information Technology department. The successful candidate will maintain and clone Oracle 11.5.10 e-Business Suite (11i EBS) instances, including performing full clones and data refreshes of clones, researching, reviewing, and applying patches, troubleshooting and diagnosing Oracle 11.5.10 e-Business Suite issues, and working with Oracle Support for service requests. Will provide support to the Oracle developers and end users, including running diagnostics and troubleshooting bottlenecks. Will provide day to day support of Oracle 11.5.10 e-Business Suite (11i EBS), including managing and adhering to security hardening processes and procedures, monitoring and tuning applications, and ensuring recoverability by monitoring and maintaining database backups and restoring when necessary. Will provide DBA support to the non-Oracle 11.5.10 e-Business Suite database instances and application servers, including applying patches and troubleshooting and diagnosing Oracle DBMS and application server issues.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, a minimum of three years of experience with Oracle 11.5.10 e-Business Suite (financials, HRMS), including self-service modules such as iProcurement, SSHR, and iRecruitment, and solid experience in general Oracle database administration required. Recent experience with Oracle database version 10g, strong knowledge about the Oracle 11.5.10 e-Business Suite architecture and various components (forms server, reports server, HTTP server), an understanding of Oracle 11.5.10 e-Business Suite design principles (physical and logical) and architecture, and knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, SUN Solaris, and shell scripting required. Must have excellent communication skills and be team-oriented. Knowledge of Oracle Standby databases a plus.
