Our client is building a team of core Oracle DBA's who will be supporting a variety of software development efforts. The team will be matrixed to the various projects. The members on the team will be required to demonstrate expertise and leadership in the following areas.
- Data Modeling: Assist in defining a logical and physical data model, or retrofit existing schemas into ERWIN. The data modeler will work with the development team to determine entities and relationships, and translate them to physical tables and referential integrity constructs. The DBA will also ensure compliance with enterprise naming conventions, ensure that ER diagrams are readable and consistent with best practices, and ensure database builds are generated consistently across deployment platforms.
- Data Architecture: Ensure that the data architecture of the application is in compliance with the vision of the enterprise data architecture in terms of data sources, data replication, and best practices.
- Physical Database design: Support the design and implementation of the physical databases to achieve acceptable levels of performance, security, and storage capacity.
- DDL support: Maintain DDL changes across code releases, ensuring they are packaged appropriately for deployment to promoted environments.
- PL/SQL and SQL development: Anything from writing code to assisting with debugging or recommending PL/SQL best practices and coding standards.
- Data Support: Assist in loading data from external data sources, archiving legacy data, recoverinng legacy data for analytical purposes, or assisting with providing external data feeds and data exports.
- Performance Tuning: Support in profiling application code, tuning database parameters, and optmizing SQL statements.
- Operational Support: Monitor and diagnose database jobs running on behalf of an application. Also provide operational database support such as database user creation, database monitoring, diagnosis, database creation, etc.
- Support Data Warehouse Development and Design: Assist in dimensional modeling, supporting DDL change requests, and data staging.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5-7 years as an Oracle DBA
- Oracle 9 and 10
- 4-6 years PL/SQL
- Erwin
- BS degree
- Excellent Team Player
- Excellent Communicator (english speaking and writing must be excellent)
Highly desireable:
- Data stage and Cognos
- Sql loader
- ETL
- XML very helpful
- MS degree
