One of our clients located Downtown Chicago is looking for a senior level "Oracle DBA" resource. Please let me know if you would be interested in this oppurtunity. The Oracle RAC and partioning experience are mandatory. Financial industry background is a huge plus.
Please note that we need a Systems DBA and not an Application DBA:

Senior Engineer – Oracle Database Administrator
This position reports to the Director of Database Administration. The position works independently, requiring minimal direction and follow-up. The position is responsible for database software implementation and upgrades, physical database design and implementation, database capacity and performance management, development and implementation of database backup and recovery plans, and problem identification and resolution. This position also provides leadership in the use of relational database management systems to application development teams and is responsible for obtaining and maintaining knowledge of current trends and directions related to the employed database management systems and management tools. In addition, this position assists junior team members, and seeks to enhance the database environment by identifying areas of improvement, sharing information and assisting in educating other members of the database team.
Position Requirements
Minimum or 6 years experience performing as an Oracle Database Administrator
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full knowledge of and experience with the following:
Oracle 9i &8i
Oracle software installation and upgrade
Database performance monitoring and tuning
Database backup and recovery
Database troubleshooting and problem resolution
Database capacity planning
Physical database design and implementation
Oracle Replication
Oracle Partitioning
NET8
Experience with databases in excess of 1 TB, or Oracle RAC
Capable of working with several departments to design and implement complete database solutions
Capable of working independently with a minimum amount of supervision
Optional knowledge:
Oracle 10g
Oracle Parallel Query
Database performance monitoring and tuning tools
Logical database design
Database design tools
UNIX Shell Programming
PL/SQL
Java programming
Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and above
