Oracle DBA / Project Manager (Oracle 9i, 10g, Java) required for our financial based client in the heart of London.
This is an exciting and challenging role that will require a pro active, entrepreneurial spirit.
Duties and responsibilities will be split into two core areas. The first area of responsibility will be to work as the sole Oracle DBA. Your duties will involve Database Optimisation, Tweaking, Tuning, Patching, Developing and Implementing Backup and Recovery Strategies and other Database Administration tasks that need to be taken care of on a daily basis. The second area of responsibility will be to Project Manage a team of Java Developers, ensuring project guidelines are set and project deadlines are met.
Potential applicants should be prepared, although this will be infrequent, to travel overseas for short periods of time (2 – 3 days).
The key skills we require are: Oracle v9i (10g desirable), Must have some commercial experience and knowledge in Java, although you will not be required to program, and previous experience in managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
