Product Dev Division
This is for test and dev role of DB control, apps server control and grid computing
System Management products group is responsible for the Grid Control product as well as Database control and Application Server Control . DB Control (DBC) is a database management , monitoring and performance management software designed to considerably enhance the DBA's capability to monitor and manage the Database server. With 10G DBC is the norm for managing the Database server.
GC (grid control) enables the Grid Computing paradigm, allowing low cost servers to be combined in a network of interconnected and related servers that provides reliability and performance earlier possible only with mainframes. Today , Grid Computing gets more hits than even RAC at Oracle site.
SMPQA groups work on development of DBC and GC products. This team works on both products from a Database management and monitoring perspective. We help shape the vision, design the product and ensure that a highest quality product is shipped in time. The areas that we work on are RAC (Real Application Clusters), Dataguard, Backup and Recovery products, Database Management features and Instance and Performance Management features.
DBC & GC feature sophisticated and comprehensive performance management features that will change the way performance monitoring and tuning will be managed in future.
This role contributes to making sure that the product meets the stated and unstated needs of the end customers , usually DBAs themselves. In addition they can also drive the product direction to better meet the requirements of the DBA, based on their experience in the field. In addition they will automate tests with in house tools from Oracle and continually optimize the quality process.
Skills and work experience: Oracle DBAs with exp in performance tuning , 4+ to 15 years of relevant experience .
