Position Scope/Summary

The company provides design and outsourced manufacturing, assembly, and supply chain management to the medical device industry. With approximately 25 locations, the company employs 4000 people. Information Technology provides a full range of technology projects and services.


Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer, this individual will establish the Oracle Competency Center and set up the support structure for the organization. This individual will be responsible for effectively supporting and maintaining the Oracle ERP application and information architecture and for providing leadership and management for the Competency Center staff while ensuring delivery of business value.


Key Result Accountabilities

Build Oracle support structure to successfully support and maintain the business units 24/7. Recruit, hire and retain excellent candidates into the Center.


Manage ongoing issue resolution and operational improvement activities around information

Manage ongoing issue resolution and operational improvement activities around Oracle systems.

Assist with the management of relationships and communication to all business units, functional organizations and executive management team.

Manage the relationship with application vendors and consulting partners.

Organize technical work such as system upgrades and enhancements into project plans; writes and maintains plans, establishes milestones, measures and reports progress, and delivers status reports.

Work as an equal partner with the business sponsor of projects to ensure alignment with strategic direction, priorities, and the delivery of business value.

Identify and test application patches prior to promotion to production.

Responsible for assisting with the Sarbanes-Oxley efforts directly related to the Oracle E-Business Suite.

Work with Oracle Technical Support on issues resolution.


Environmental Working Conditions

Ability to travel globally on a limited basis.

Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate functional material to end users and upper management.

Ability to work in a demanding user environment.


Qualifications

Maintenance and support experience and detailed/comprehensive understanding of the following Oracle Application modules in Release 11i: Financial and Manufacturing are a must; Order Management/CRM, Human Resources, Quality, Purchasing, ,Supply Chain, and Enterprise Asset Management are a plus.

6+ years experience with Oracle ERP, at least 3+ years experience with Oracle 11i E-Business Suite in a diverse Manufacturing environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Working knowledge of Oracle configurations / setups.

Understanding of business requirements and abilities to:

o Define future business processes around Oracle functional modules.

o Create detailed written specifications and requirements.

o Educate business users.

o Provide guidance in data preparation and migration.

o Set up application modules.

o Support acceptance testing.

Candidate must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, work well with others in an integrated team environment, must be self-motivated, and a problem solver.

Excellent project management skills with demonstrated track record.

Excellent management and team building skills.

Demonstrated leadership abilities. Effective in matrix management and team building.

Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate between business requirements and technical design and implementation.

Previous experience managing projects in a manufacturing industry (preferably medical devices or life science) including ERP and business metrics.

Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills along with problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills to influence management as well as internal and external partners.

Able to travel 30%-40% of the year (primarily US). Ability to travel globally
