Job Summary
The basic requirements include a strong command of the tools with which the Oracle® Applications are built, and, in general, for two or more years, performed significant technical tasks with these tools with the Oracle® Applications. These tasks should include, but not be limited to, interfaces, forms, and reports. The Application Developer's role is to write, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production life cycle. The Application Developer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion.
The ability to make functional contributions will make a difference in evaluating candidates. Candidates should have worked in a collaborative environment with an offshore development group and have working knowledge and best practices in this environment.
Oracle Applications experience in an ERP or Financials is desirable.
During the interview candidates should be able to discuss:
• How to work with Oracle Applications Framework especially self-service applications that use Java/JSP framework
• How to register a custom application with the Oracle® Applications
• How to register a concurrent program for an interface through the Forms that includes a Korn Shell script with parameters
• How to work with Oracle® Application's custom library
• PL/SQL package usage and performance techniques
• Oracle® database concepts
Requirements for the Job:
• University degree in the field of computer science or software engineering
• Extensive experience in Java, JSP, Struts, EJB and J2EE framework
• Working technical knowledge of programming languages, including Oracle® PL/SQL and C
• Exposure to Oracle Technologies such as ADF,Toplink, BC4J,Jdeveloper, OC4J and BPEL
• Extensive database and operating systems experience with Oracle®, UNIX and Microsoft® NT
• Thorough understanding of platforms such as Oracle® Applications including Oracle Application Server
• Hands-on software troubleshooting experience
• Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products
• Highly logical
• Technically proficient
• Highly self-motivated and directed
• Keen attention to detail
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Willingness to travel.
