ORACLE DATA ANALYST/DEVELOPER
Parsons has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Oracle Data Analyst/Developer to assist in providing technical support for a challenging environmental/engineering project in the Las Vegas offices of a large client.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, performs database design practices, analyzes and evaluates scientific data and business processes in order to design database structures and efficient backend database processing. Assists in facilitating data management practices within the project team, database design and data conversions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Oracle Data Analyst/Developer will assist in providing ongoing database development and support for data migration needs for a team of front-end developers who create web-based and client-based applications. The primary role of this position is data analysis, Oracle database design from an application perspective and data migration. However, the candidate will be exposed to diverse technologies, allowing for an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual with a strong desire to learn. Familiarity with Microsoft Access, VB.NET, ColdFusion and HTML is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or a closely related field; and 3+ years of progressively responsible experience involving data analysis, documenting business requirements, database design and backend application development; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
REQUIRED SKILL SETS:
„« Experience designing, coding, testing and maintaining database objects, tables, views, packages, functions, procedures, indexes, sequences and triggers using Oracle PL/SQL
„« Experience in SQL query tuning and optimization techniques
„« Strong data and business analysis skills with attention to detail
„« Excellent verbal and written communication skills
„« Customer oriented with the ability to create strong customer relationships
„« Motivated by satisfying customer needs
„« Experience meeting with user community, ability to drive data analysis meetings for data migration from external data sources, and documenting data conversion requirements.
„« Experience translating requirements into technical specifications to be created using Oracle 8i/9i, SQL Loader, PL/SQL and SQL
„« Driven self-starter who can work both independently and as a team member
