Job Description: Continue development of a data repository and reporting application using Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Application Express giving Technology upper management and Human Resources the ability to gain a more complete understanding of the successes and challenges of diversity initiatives within their own organizations and produce timely, consistent, accurate reports on staff diversity. This phase of the project will focus on defining functional requirements for and implementing enhanced application security, report availability notification, and report drill down detail.
Job Responsibilities:
As part of a team, support application development using Oracle APEX technology as a part of a solution development for a targeted data consolidation, management and reporting system. Develop data models adhering to business requirements and established data standards. Create scripts to create database objects and execute scripts in development environments. Support application planning by providing information on database logical infrastructure and collaborating on the planning of logical infrastructure enhancements. Advise on currently unused and emerging data management and analytic technologies to determine if they can be effectively used for this specific application. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Must have experience with the full system lifecycle for enterprise application development.
Must possess excellent conversational and writing skills in the English language.
Must be able to perform Entity Relationship, Data Warehouse and Data Mart modeling, and demonstrate Data Architectural skills, discuss Data design trade-offs, discuss metadata message formats, and perform data analysis/design.
Key Technical Skills:
Required:
3+ years experience using Oracle version 9i or above developing packages and/or stored procedures with PL/SQL to implement business logic for an application.
Technical writing skills
Desired:
Familiarity with data encryption and security methods.
Experience designing displays to drill into detail.
Experience developing applications with Oracle Application Express or another tool employing a browser interface.
Experience developing applications with Oracle Advanced Queue techniques.
Experience using PL/SQL Developer.
Key non-technical competencies:
• Ability to build consensus within a complex organization
• Fluent technical and business strategic orientation
• Comprehensive knowledge and astute use of database industry information in decision-making
• Excellent written communication; fluent platform presentation skills
• Ability to establish and implement best practices
• Hands-on experience tuning large database physical organization (transactional databases, data warehouses, etc.) in a client-server software architecture
• Capable of thinking broadly about issues that span user interfaces, web servers and scalability and the implications on the data architecture.
• Look for opportunities to teach and mentor others in the organization in an informal way by working closely with them.
• Offer help and assistance in whatever way is appropriate to any development team
