Universal Music Group IT (UMGIT), is currently seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer for the Universal City, Ca location.
Job Description:
Database, ETL and Application Programming and development support for the eCRM team. This position will support the design, development, and maintenance of software for new and existing projects. Additionally, this individual will work closely with users to define requirements for development and maintenance projects, coordinate acceptance testing and training, and to identify changes and enhancements to existing software. The Database Developer will work with a team of other developers to code and test programs. The primary development and support will be for CRM system.
Job Reports To: Data Warehouse Manager
Responsibilities:
• The candidate will work with the Data Warehouse Manager to help Data Warehouse team to administer and enhance eCRM Data Warehousing Environment and to take it through the future iterations.
• Share responsibilities for monitoring eCRM Data warehouse ETL and loading process
• Support current ETL processes
• Maintain existing and develop new reporting and analytical solutions for eCRM Customers
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues
• Use of technical experience to suggest better solutions to new and existing problems.
• Involvement with other IT departments providing systems communication processes.
• Meet with various IT groups (other departments and computer operations' staff) to address issues/concerns. This includes other business unit IT groups, as well as the technical operations group (Server Group and other Infrastructure groups).
• Identify software solutions needed for new projects. This includes the self education of new tools and/or languages using either the Universal Training classes or other means.
• Weekly reporting to manager on project status and issues.
• Responsible to communicate with IT team members and user groups as required.
• Ability to task priorities.

Experience/Knowledge
Required:
• 3+ years of overall current Oracle experience, PL/SQL
• 5+ years of Data warehouse , ETL experience
• 3+ years of Perl experience
• Working knowledge of any UNIX (Red Hat Linux preferable)
• Proficiency with common Oracle development toolset: DBArtisian, TOAD, ERwin, Enterprise Manager, SQL*Loader etc.
• Clear understanding of modern principles and techniques in Data Warehousing and related fields (OLAP, BI, ETL, Metadata Management, Dimensional Modeling, etc.)
• 1+ of developing applications using MS Analysis Services, MDX knowledge.
• Visual Studio .NET and Reporting Services is a plus.
• Java experience is a plus
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline
